Mooncakes

A popular treat during the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival is the mooncake, a pastry that's round, just like the moon.  Friends, schoolmates, colleagues, and neighbors like to give each other boxes of these goodies.  Rich and sweet, the mooncakes have fillings such as lotus nut, pineapple, and in some cases, even ham!  Although the mooncake looks like a cookie, it's eaten like a little cake.  Each one is cut into 4-6 slices and then nibbled on while drinking tea.

Our mooncakes are lovingly made by GIFT parents, children, and mentors under the direction of the Sun Family at Eastern Accents, a local Asian bakery and tea shop.   They are fresh, made to order in small, limited batches.  Unlike most commercial mooncakes, we do not use lard.  We make our mooncakes as a fundraiser for Mam Non events and for the GIFT program.  We welcome your support by buying mooncakes through our Etsy store.
